As summer is coming, we look forward to visiting our usual venues as well as some new ones. We have some "kinks" in our summer plans as Pam heals from a knee replacement, Mae prepares for going to UNI in the fall, and We work out our staffing issue for weekends we are double booked. It should be great summer and we hope to see you at one or more of our Summer Stops. We will start out Summer out on June 2nd, 3rd and 4th in Story City with Scandinavian Days and in Ogden for the Boone Relay for life. The next weekend we will be in Grimes for Governor"s Days. We are in Slater this weekend for their 150th July 4th Celebration. Located on the West side of Nelson park, come see us today after the rain passes. We are set up in Grimes this week end. Come out and join the festivites and good bbq. The beer garden is set and stocked a
with fine beverages. The band Brother Trucker takes the stage at 8. This past Friday night we were once again part of the Boone Relay For Life Fundraiser. We were part of the CDS Globel of Boone Team. They sold our cotton candy to the employees over the last few weeks and was able to raise almost $200.00. We then set up at The Relay and sold cotton candy and applied air brush tattoos and raised another 180.00 for the relay.
We are very proud to be apart of this event the last 5 years. We all know someone who has or is battleing cancer. We are honored to help in the fight against cancer. CANCER SUCKS!!!!!! This last week end we catered a graduation for Jessi Soderstrum. She is graduating from Boone High School. She wanted to do a "state fair" theme. We did fried food for her. We had cheese balls, mini corn dogs, funnel cakes, cotton candy, and slider burgers. We had a good time and everyone ate well.
Here is my first attempt at a blog. We are working on get our website set up and going. Our daughter built the original site as a class assignment for her computer class. Now, Pam has taken over and is learning and improving on the original. We hope everyone that sees it that they pass word around so we can get more people watching our page and blog. I (Tom) hope to write something every week as we travel around Central Iowa selling our delicious barbeque. I hope to keep everyone upto date as to where and when we will be.
